How to Stream Custom Clothing on FiveM for Free

Almost every FiveM server owner wants custom clothing for their players. Most people think you have to pay FiveM to use custom clothing streaming, but that's not always true.

If you're just starting out, you can actually use custom clothing for free with a simple trick.

The Free Method: Limit Your Server to 10 Playerslink

FiveM allows servers with 10 or fewer players to use custom clothing streaming for free. This is perfect if you're just getting started and don't have many players yet.

Step 1: Edit Your server.cfglink

  1. Go to your FiveM server files
  2. Open the server.cfg file
  3. Find the line that says sv_maxclients
  4. Change the number to 10 or lower

sv_maxclients 8

That's it! Now you can use custom clothing streaming without paying anything.

When You Need to Paylink

If you want more than 10 active players on your server, you'll need to upgrade to a paid subscription.

Element Club Subscriptionslink

FiveM moved from Patreon to their own subscription system called Element Club. The payments are now handled by Tebex.

Element Club Tiers:

Argentum (Lowest Tier):

  • Price: €15/month + VAT (around $16-17 US$)

My Recommendationlink

For New Serverslink

Start with the free 10-player limit. This gives you time to:

  • Test your server setup
  • Build your initial community
  • Make sure everything works properly
  • See if your server idea actually works

When to Upgradelink

Upgrade to Element Club when you consistently have more than 8-10 players online. Choose your tier based on your needs:

  • Argentum: Good for small servers (up to 64 players)
  • Aurum: Better for medium servers (up to 128 players with Infinity)
  • Platinum: For large servers (up to 2048 players with Infinity)

Don't upgrade too early - wait until you actually need it.

Important Noteslink

  • The 10-player limit is for active players, not total registered users
  • Custom clothing streaming includes both clothing and vehicle textures
  • You can always upgrade later when your server grows
  • The free tier has the same features, just limited player count

Why This Matterslink

Custom clothing is essential for modern FiveM roleplay servers. Players expect to customize their characters, and servers without custom clothing feel outdated.

Starting free lets you:

  • Test your server concept without financial risk
  • Learn server development before investing money
  • Build a player base gradually
  • Prove your server works before paying monthly fees

Bottom Linelink

Don't pay for Element Club subscriptions until you actually need more than 10 players. Use the free tier to get started, build your community, and upgrade when you outgrow the limit.

Most new servers fail anyway, so why waste $15+ per month on a server that might not succeed? Start free, grow your community, then upgrade when you need to.
